1.7 Version changelog:

Major changes.
Added the ability to anonymize a player in battle:

A setting is added to the game client that will allow any player to hide their game name for the duration of the battle. This setting is applied in Random Battles (including Onslaught, Encounter Battles, and General Battles), on the Frontline, in Ranked Battles, as well as in some temporary modes and seasonal events. The setting does not work in Training Battles, on the Global Map, in Sorties and Advances, as well as in tournament games.
. For all participants in the battle (except your co-platoon members), a player with an activated setting will be displayed as an unknown player, that is:
a) the real game name will be automatically replaced by the created name, which changes every battle;
b) if the player is a member of a clan, then the clan tag and clan emblem are hidden;
c) as a result, it becomes impossible to obtain additional information about the player during the battle;
d) the anonymizer does not affect the display of patches;
. Players of a platoon formed both in the Hangar and during the battle will only see the real names of each member of the formation.
. A player using this setting continues to see their real name, but can also recognize a replacement.
. The real names of the players can be found after the end of the battle from the post-battle statistics window.

Please note that this setting cannot be used to violate the Game Rules and will not affect the technical capabilities of moderation. A player who hides his name and violates the Rules will not be able to avoid liability.

Other:
. Fixed 3D-style icon "Basalt" (Burnout - EN ver.) on the tank Object 907.
. The system for dealing damage from falling tanks from high and medium heights has been fixed.
. The client has been adapted to the new mechanics of double-barreled guns on tanks. Added animation for the gun in the client, added other hints, added a new TTX parameter in the "Firepower" section - Volley time.
. A new option has been added to the Control Settings, the "Shooting" section: Fire a volley, you can assign a separate key to it.
* Launch a volley - Volley, a key that, when pressed, activates volley fire. If the same button is assigned to a single shot and a salvo fire, then a single shot will be fired when this button is released.

The next update in World of Tanks should be expected in the second half of February 2017. And as it became known, it will be the intermediate patch of update 9.17.1. In theory, the next patch should be, but alas, no.

It is known for sure that changes will be added to the German research branch. The values of most German heavy tanks will be improved, see below.

We listened to your feedback and requests after the announcement of adding an analogue of the VK 72.01 (K) tank to the German heavy tank branch and took into account the wishes to keep this vehicle unique for the players who received it for battles on the Global Map.

A new Pz.Kpfw VII vehicle will be added to the branch. There will be one very important difference between it and the prize car - this is their weapon. The Pz.Kpfw VII will be equipped with a 12.8 cm Kw.K. 46L/61. Therefore, the behavior of vehicles on the battlefield will be slightly different, and players who received VK 72.01 (K) for battles on the Global Map will still have an exclusive vehicle.

VK 72.01 (K ) will receive some improvements, including increased shooting comfort, increased shell penetration Pzgr. 42 (for gun 15 cm Kw . K . L /38) and expanded to 35 rounds of ammunition. Moreover, VK 72.01 (K) and Pz. Kpfw. VII will receive stronger armor, but their maximum speed will be reduced to 33 km/h.

Full changelog

Interface

Combat Efficiency Ribbons

  • Implemented the ability to display two or more feeds for the same event in battle. For example, when dealing damage to two vehicles with one shot (or when dealing damage to two different vehicles with different shots in a very short period of time), not one tape with the amount of damage and the name of the vehicle (the last one that was damaged) will be displayed, but two different tapes showing damage for each vehicle. This will be done for all combat effectiveness bands.
  • If the enemy is destroyed, the player does not need to see a tape with the number of "critized" modules of the destroyed vehicle (after the "Destroyed" tape). The display of the "Critical Hit" ribbon in this case will be disabled.
  • A new "Fall Damage" ribbon has been added. In the detailed damage log, this event will be displayed separately. Also, the display of the tape can be configured in the menu.

Damage Direction Indicators

  • Changed the display of damage direction indicators (to unload the combat interface).
  • A setting has been added that allows you to enable / disable the display of a dynamic damage indicator (changes in the width of the indicator depending on the amount of received / blocked damage). By default, the setting will be disabled, indicators of the same size will be displayed in battle.
  • Changed indicator timings and added animation.
  • Additional information has been added to the settings, explaining the principles of some feedback settings in battle.
  • Added information about receiving damage or critical damage to the tapes and detailed log.
  • Damage or critical damage received from an ally will also be recorded in the tape and in the detailed log. The color of the ribbon and the detailed log message will be the same for both damage received from an enemy and damage received from an ally (red for damage, orange for critical damage).
  • Projectile type added to the detailed log. Premium shells will be highlighted in gold. The player will not be able to enable or disable the indication that the projectile was premium in the settings. The projectile type is not added to the ribbons and indicators of shelling. The projectile type is indicated only in the detailed log messages for the following cases:
    • taking damage with a shot;
    • receiving critical damage;
    • receiving armor-blocked damage.
  • Detailed log settings updated:
    • Added a setting to display the whole block of damage: received damage, critical damage and damage blocked by armor.
    • Added a setting to move the display of the damage block to a new location: the display of received damage, critical damage and damage blocked by armor to the right of the own team's lists.
  • Improved fonts for all damage log tapes.
  • Improved fonts and message backgrounds of the detailed log.
  • Improved the texts of the damage log settings window.
  • If all summary indicators of the detailed log are disabled, the log itself can be displayed to the player (in versions 9.16 and 9.17, when all three summary indicators were disabled, the detailed log was hidden forcibly).
  • When hitting a vehicle with rapid-firing guns, the tapes and detailed log messages will display the total sum of the series of shots.
  • The mechanism for placing members of one platoon when loading a battle has been improved: joint platoons appear on the map as close as possible based on the capabilities of the map and the number of platoons.
  • The mechanism for switching the camera in the observer mode / in the afterlife has been improved:
    • platoon tanks are displayed first;
    • then in order according to the location in the team list.

  • Added indication of the base projectile in the tooltip.
  • Implemented a comparison of the performance characteristics of shells in the tooltip with respect to the base shell.
  • Improved tank carousel filters in the Garage:
    • A text search by tank name has been added to filtering.
    • Added the ability to switch the appearance of the carousel directly to filtering.
    • Additional statistics have been added to the vehicle slot - the percentage of victories on the selected vehicle in random battles, badges of class and "Masters". It is displayed when hovering over a vehicle slot and is disabled in the settings.

"Fortified areas"

The format of "Battles for the Stronghold" has been replaced with a new one called "Offensive". It's still a series of battles in the "tug of war" format with three lines of defense, but with a number of significant differences:

  • There are no more plunders, in case of defeat the clan does not lose anything, and the winner's income depends on the level of his own Stronghold.
  • You no longer need to defend the Stronghold 6 days a week. Battles in the mode are held only at will.
  • The battles start at a fixed time, the opponent for the offensive is selected automatically from those available in the queue.
  • The refusal to plunder in case of defeat and the mandatory defense of the Stronghold led to significant changes in the economy of the regime. As a result, the Chancellery, which is currently mainly used by the "top" clans that have earned their authority in battle, would become available to a significantly larger number of clans, which could lead to an imbalance in the game's economy as a whole.
  • To replace the advantages of the Chancellery, a system of competitions is introduced - "War Games", where clans participating in sorties and offensives will be able to compete for prizes in several categories. The winners will be rewarded with gold, advanced reserves and other rewards.
  • IMPORTANT: Wargames will start some time after update 9.17.1.
  • The battle room in both sorties and offensives can be opened up for legionnaires who can join your squad (as in team or company battles). The list of open battle rooms will be available in a special interface to everyone.
