Any eleventh grade graduate wants to score the maximum number of points for the Unified State Exam. When entering a university, every point counts for an applicant, and sometimes only a couple of points for the Unified State Exam separate yesterday’s student from entering the chosen educational institution. Having received the results of the Unified State Exam, few schoolchildren are satisfied with them, and many people think that if they had taken the exam again, everything would have turned out differently, and there would have been more points. Is it possible to retake the Unified State Exam if you are not satisfied with the exam results in 2018 - how many and what exams can be retaken for schoolchildren.

Profile level of the Unified State Examination in mathematics 2018

The profile exam, in fact, is no different from the Unified State Exam in mathematics, which has been taken for many years. Innovations consist of a slight change in the number of tasks. In addition, the passing level changed, i.e. the minimum score required to successfully pass the Unified State Exam.

Starting from 2015, the numbering of tasks has been changed. Sections “B” and “C” have disappeared; tasks are simply numbered in order.

The new numbering at the profile level makes it slightly more difficult to prepare for the Unified State Exam using previous years’ options. Therefore, I will mention old numbers, with letters. Fortunately, the complexity and structure of the tasks themselves have not undergone drastic changes.

The examination paper of the profile Unified State Examination in mathematics 2018 contains 19 tasks and consists of two parts:

Part 1 contains 8 tasks (1-8) of basic difficulty level with a short answer. This is an analogue of tasks “B1” - “B8”. The tasks are considered relatively simple. In this part, you need to solve the task and write the answer in the required cells of the form.

Part 2 contains 4 tasks (9-12) of an increased level of complexity with a short answer and 7 tasks (13-19) of an increased and high level of complexity with a detailed answer. This part is more difficult. Answers to tasks 9–12 are also written in the cells of the form. In tasks 13-19 you need to write down (correctly!) the entire solution on a special form.

Tasks 1-12, with a short answer (previously - group “B”), are checked by computer. Tasks 13-19, with a detailed solution (previously - group “C”) are checked by experts.

First, let’s evaluate the tasks of the profile Unified State Exam with a short answer (formerly part “B”).

In this part there are the most ordinary, simple tasks, and there are also special ones. The special thing is how they are served to you. It is written: “solve the equation”, but there is no equation at all! Is there some kind of schedule... Or there is a huge inequality, which is terrible to look at, let alone solve! Or the problem contains the dreaded word “percentage”! Do not be afraid. In sections 2 and 3 of this site we will learn how to successfully deal with such tasks.

Short answer questions have a hint! The answer must be a whole number or a finite decimal. If you get something like the root of two, or one third, think about it! Look for the error.

Carefully write down your answer in the boxes! Write exactly as the numbers are shown on the sample form! Otherwise you will write your favorite one with a long nose, as you are used to. Or a beautiful, round C grade... And the computer, soulless iron, will consider a one to be a seven, a three to be an eight... The computer doesn’t care, it doesn’t need a certificate.

If you manage to write down an incorrect answer on the form, you can correct it, but not by crossing it out, but according to certain rules. Check with the organizers on how to correctly correct an error in the form.

Remember – there are no massive tasks in a group of 1-12! If it seems to you that the solution requires five formulas and 30 minutes of writing, you have made a mistake somewhere. Almost any task in this group is completed in 5-10 minutes, or even less (if you know what to do).

Tasks 13-14 are not much more difficult than tasks “B”. And even easier! (Yes, yes! This happens too). Quite solvable, although they often look simply terrible! Out of fear they try to take it.

Is it possible to retake the Unified State Exam in compulsory subjects in 2018?

Yes, graduates of 2018 can retake the Unified State Exam in a compulsory subject. Exams in Russian language and mathematics are mandatory. But the procedure for conducting state final certification in Russia does not allow anyone who wishes to retake the Unified State Exam to improve their results.

The order is strict, and it looks like this:

• You can retake the Unified State Exam in only one of the two compulsory subjects,
• The Unified State Exam can be retaken only if the grade is unsatisfactory.

Moreover, with mathematics everything is not easy. If a graduate has chosen to take both levels of the exam, the base and the profile, and failed only one of them, then he will not be eligible to retake the test, because his second result is quite satisfactory. If a graduate took the exam at only one level (either basic or specialized) and did not score the minimum score to receive a certificate, then he will be allowed to retake it.

Dates for retaking the Unified State Examination

Retaking the Unified State Exam is possible on special reserve days:

June 22 (Fri) - geography, computer science.
June 25 (Mon) - mathematics base and profile.
June 26 (Tue) - Russian language.
June 27 (Wed) - chemistry, history, biology, foreign languages.
June 28 (Thu) - literature, physics, social studies.
June 29 (Fri) - foreign languages ​​(oral part).
July 2 (Mon) - in all academic subjects.

The second wave of retakes will take place in September:

September 4 (Tue) - Russian language.
September 7 (Fri) - basic mathematics.
September 15 (Sat) - basic mathematics, Russian language.

Thus, if a graduate fails both mandatory exams: Russian language and mathematics, retaking the exam on the reserve dates at the end of June will not be possible for him. The very fact that the Unified State Exam is available as a result of schooling no longer confuses parents and students. In essence, this is just a form of testing knowledge, nothing more. On the other hand, there are some children who were unable to pass the millstones of the system in the current and previous years. Application deadlines and estimated re-exam dates

Most current and last year schoolchildren know that they need to write an application to retake the state exam at the Unified State Exam registration points. This applies to those who immediately take a retake after graduating from school this year. For last year's retakes, for foreign students and for technical school students, additional documents are required. Among them there is a certificate/other document of education, a certificate from the current place of study, etc. In such cases, it is worthwhile to first clarify the required list of documents so as not to inadvertently miss the next innovations.

This only applies to “non-standard” mulligans. Yesterday's eleventh graders should not collect additional papers. In most cases, they only need a passport and an application. In addition, such test takers are carefully advised at their home school, which is interested in the successful retake of its students.

Attention! Before leaving home to retake the exam, it is important to make sure you have your passport. Without it, admission to re-certification will not be granted.

Information regarding the timing of exams in 2019, indicating the exact dates, will be provided later. For now, when choosing, it is necessary to focus on last year’s dates for the summer and autumn sessions. The first of them took place from the second ten days of June to July 2. In the fall, the retake schedule met the deadline from the first days of September to the middle of the month.

Procedure and rules for retaking the test

Previously, schoolchildren were given the right to retake only compulsory disciplines. Now the subjects have been equalized in importance, so now you can take the elective exams again. The number of disciplines remains the same - there is a chance to correct only one unsatisfactory grade at a time. The last condition applies to either 1 compulsory or 1 elective discipline. Those. not one of each type, but only 1 exam.

Attention! When determining which disciplines are optional for passing, those who plan to enroll in an educational institution with a mathematical focus should be careful. When choosing basic and specialized mathematics as an exam, if the latter fails, repeat tests are not accepted. The basic option is taken into account, which does not give the right to enter universities with specialized mathematics.

This situation applies not only to mathematics - many schoolchildren dream of the opportunity to retake a bad but acceptable grade. They do not have this right for all subjects; having a minimum score in any discipline is already a valid exam. Moreover, one of the recent changes was the emergence of the possibility of re-certification in one discipline to obtain a higher result, but mathematics in the case of the base and profile is not included in this list.

This order of retakes is planned to be maintained in the coming years. In essence, this is the right approach - schoolchildren had to carefully approach the process of preparing and passing the exam in order to avoid receiving many “Cs”. Therefore, only students who received an unsatisfactory grade are allowed to re-certify.

In addition, we should not forget that other categories of schoolchildren also receive the right to retake, and not just those who did not pass one exam well. The list of such students is not very wide. The following are allowed to be re-taken:

1. Persons who missed the exam for a valid reason.
2. Schoolchildren who were present during the emergency while taking the Unified State Exam.
3. Those who are forced to retake due to a third party error.
4. Students who do not achieve the minimum score on the exam.
5. Students who left the exam venue for a valid reason.

It is especially worth highlighting the situation with the banal failure to pass the Unified State Exam. Having only 1 failed discipline gives you the right to retake it on a reserve day during the summer session or in the fall. Two or more “failed” exams will deprive you of the right to receive a certificate in the current year. In this case, the Unified State Examination takes place the following year.

Nuances of retaking for graduates of previous years

Previously, the situation was categorical - those who failed the exam in their year of study had the right to try to pass it only in the coming fall. Now a summer retake has been added to the fall session, which makes it possible to get into the number of students this year.

Only these rules do not fully apply to last year’s students wishing to retake the exams. Retaking the Unified State Exam by graduates of previous years implies the very fact of graduating from school in a different year. Therefore, it is not possible for them to continuously take exams with current graduates. On the other hand, schoolchildren who graduated 2-3 years ago have the right to retake the Unified State Exam in order to increase the number of points received.

Important! It is worth remembering that the rule of 1 retake does not apply here either. You can take several disciplines at a time if you want to improve your results. In all other cases, you will have to take it at another time, each time making a new application.

Also, do not forget that missing an exam in the absence of important reasons deprives you of the right to a quick retake. Therefore, it is necessary to be thoughtful when choosing the test period to eliminate the possibility of missing re-certification. In addition, you should not confuse those who are taking a retake from the just past academic year with those who studied 2-3 or more years ago. It is the latter category that falls into the group of graduates from previous years, and other conditions apply to them.

Retaking the Unified State Exam 2019 is no easier, but also no more difficult, than in previous years. Tests and examination materials are slightly modernized every year, but only for the better. They specify the conditions of the tasks and improve the assessment system, so sometimes a retake can give a result higher than expected.

With retaking the Unified State Examination, as well as with retaking university exams, everything is extremely strict. Failures on the Unified State Exam are not uncommon, and therefore you should ask yourself in advance about all the opportunities that the Ministry of Education provides for children who failed the exams.

When can I retake the Unified State Exam?

How many times during the year can a student retake the exam? Formally, twice, but only in one compulsory subject - mathematics or Russian language. Reserve days are allocated in the Unified State Examination schedule for retakes.

If a student fails the exam on the reserve day, he will be able to try his hand at the final test in September. This additional period is necessary for the student to be able to obtain a certificate of completion of 11 grades of schooling.

For this purpose, a division was introduced into a minimum certification and a minimum test score in compulsory subjects.

The minimum certification score is enough to obtain a high school diploma, but not enough to apply to a university, because it is lower than the test score (for reference: the minimum certification score in Russian is 24 points, in mathematics - 23).

If, after the autumn retake of mathematics or the Russian language, the student does not score the minimum amount of points, then he completes his school education with a certificate of completion of 11 classes and will not be able to enroll in a higher educational institution this year. If a student fails to pass both mandatory exams at the same time, he will also be deprived of the opportunity to receive a certificate.

Is it possible to retake the Unified State Exam as an elective?

Unfortunately no. The rules on reserve days do not apply to elective subjects, since it is assumed that the student chooses them consciously as the ones he has studied most well.

In addition, the results for elective subjects (even if they are zero) do not affect the issuance of a certificate and final school grades in subjects.

Regardless of age, how long ago you left school, or how well you passed the Unified State Exam, anyone can take the exams again next year or twenty years later. There is a full range of state exams to choose from – take any!

Don’t forget that the Unified State Exam results are valid for four years, which means that you don’t have to retake subjects with a high score, while focusing on exams that are especially difficult for you.

There are no plans for a mini Unified State Examination. It is planned to test and conduct diagnostic work (similar to control work), which is carried out to assess the individual achievements of students - All-Russian testing works. They will be carried out by the schools themselves, but using uniform versions of tasks for the entire country, developed at the federal level. The data obtained will be used to monitor learning outcomes according to the Federal State Educational Standard for primary schools.

The decision that school graduates must write a final essay was made in pursuance of subparagraph 9 of paragraph 1 of the list of instructions of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 27, 2013 No. Pr-3086 on the implementation of the Address of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation dated December 12, 2013.
It is due to the fact that the school must educate the individual. The introduction of a final essay as a form of admission to the state final certification motivates schoolchildren to study the Russian language and literature, as well as to develop the ability to correctly formulate and express their own thoughts.
At the same time, extremely “soft” conditions for conducting and evaluating the final essay are provided:

• participants write it in their own school;
• the participant in his reasoning only needs to rely on one independently chosen work.
• the essay is assessed according to the “pass” - “fail” system (for the final test you need to write an essay yourself (at least 250 words), obtain positive results according to criterion No. 1 “Conformity to the topic” and criterion No. 2 “Argumentation. Involvement of literary material”, and also according to at least one of three other criteria: “Composition and logic of reasoning”, “Quality of writing”, “Literacy”);
• participants have the right to retake the essay twice within the time limits specified in the essay schedule (February 7 and May 16, 2018).

When composing essay topics, narrowly defined formulations are not used and reliance is placed on the following principles: feasibility, clarity and accuracy of the problem statement. Topics will allow the graduate to choose literary material on which he will rely in his reasoning.

1. Can a student with disabilities write an essay rather than an exposition?

To obtain admission to the State Examination Academy, persons with disabilities have the right to write both an essay and a presentation.
The time allotted for writing the final essay for such persons increases by 1.5 hours.

Students of secondary vocational education participate in the final essay at will (to use its results when applying to universities).
To participate in the final essay (presentation), you must submit an application and a certificate from the educational organization in which the vocational education student is undergoing training, confirming the mastery of educational programs of secondary general education, no later than two weeks before the start of the final essay (presentation) to the place of registration , determined by OIV. These persons independently choose the deadline for writing the final essay from among those established by the schedule for the final essay (presentation).
The selected date of participation in the final essay must be indicated in the application, which is submitted to the places of registration identified and published on the official website of the OIV.
The essay for this category of persons is carried out in places designated by the OIV.

1. Will the university take into account my results in the final essay (presentation)?

In accordance with paragraph 44 of the Procedure for admission to study in educational programs of higher education - bachelor's degree programs, specialty programs, master's programs, approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated October 14, 2015 No. 1147, when applying for study in bachelor's degree programs, specialty programs, the university can award points for individual achievement for the grade assigned by the university based on the results of checking the final essay, which is a condition for admission to the State Examination.
When admitted to bachelor's and specialty programs, an applicant may be awarded no more than 10 points in total for individual achievements. The list of individual achievements taken into account for admission to bachelor's degree programs, specialist programs in the event of equality of the sum of competitive points, as well as individual achievements taken into account when admission to master's programs is established by the organization independently. The list of individual achievements taken into account and the procedure for taking them into account are established by the organization in accordance with paragraphs 43 - 46 of the Procedure and are indicated in the admission rules approved by the organization independently.

1. Do graduates from previous years without an 11th grade certificate need to take the final essay for admission to the Unified State Exam 2017?

A final essay (presentation) as a condition for admission to the state final certification in educational programs of secondary general education is mandatory for graduates of 11 grades.
Persons admitted to the State Examination in previous years, but who did not pass the State Examination or received unsatisfactory results in more than one compulsory academic subject at the State Examination, or who repeatedly received an unsatisfactory result in one of these subjects at the State Examination in additional terms (hereinafter referred to as persons with a certificate of education ) participate in the final essay at will, in order to use its results when applying to a university.
Registration of persons with a certificate of education to participate at their request in the final essay is carried out in organizations engaged in educational activities, in which these persons are reinstated for the period necessary to pass the State Examination. When submitting an application, such persons present a certificate of training according to a sample independently established by the organization carrying out educational activities.

1. What else does the result of the final essay influence besides the admission of graduates to the Unified State Exam?

The results of the final essay (presentation) are taken into account when admitting applicants at the discretion of the university. The procedure for taking into account the results obtained by the applicant for the final essay is indicated in the admission rules. If the essay results are taken into account, the applicant may receive up to 10 additional points added to his existing Unified State Examination scores.

1. Is it true that if 11th graders don’t write their essay in December, there will be no more retakes? What about national schools in the regions? Even when I entered the university in the 90s, graduates from national republics wrote not an essay, but an exposition or even a dictation. Why is there a general requirement for graduates of national schools? Please review and give them a chance to retake the essay in February and May!

Students who receive an unsatisfactory result (“failure”) in the final essay (presentation) may be re-admitted to participate in the final essay (presentation), but no more than two times and only within the time limits established by the schedule for the final essay (presentation).

1. I do not agree with the essay result I received at school. I think that the school did not objectively evaluate my essay, can I file an appeal about disagreement with the result of the essay?

According to clause 14 of the Procedure for conducting state final certification for educational programs of secondary general education, approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated December 26, 2013 No. 1400 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure), executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation exercising public administration in the field education (hereinafter referred to as the EIV), determine the procedure, as well as the procedure and timing for checking the final essay (presentation) on the territory of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
Filing an appeal about disagreement with the results of the final essay (presentation) is not provided for by the procedure.
In accordance with the Recommendations for organizing and conducting the final essay (presentation) for executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation exercising public administration in the field of education, in order to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure an objective assessment of the final essay (presentation) by students who receive a repeated unsatisfactory result (“ failure") for the final essay (presentation), they are given the right to submit a written application for verification of the final essay (presentation) submitted by them by a commission of another educational organization or a commission formed by the OIV at the regional or municipal levels.
The procedure for submitting such an application and the organization of re-checking the final essay (presentation) of the specified category of students is determined by the OIV.
